1. Dolphins have no sense of smell, instead they have heightened hearing and are able to hear frequencies at 10 times the upper limit of humans.
2. The main predators of dolphins are not actually other aquatic species, their main threat is humans.
3. Dolphins are very social and interactive animals, often travelling in large groups and sometimes in groups upwards of 1000 dolphins.

4. Dolphins are the only other species on Earth other than humans that have sex for fun or enjoyment.
5. Dolphins are one of the most intelligent animals in the world, and their brain evolution is quite similar to that of humans.
6. Dolphins are part of a family of whales, also in this family are orcas (killer whales).
7. Dolphins fins are formed quite similarly to legs and toes, and it is hypothesized that they were wolf like animals at one point in their evolution before they began their ocean based lives. The most interesting fact in my eyes is fact number 4, but for a different reason than you might think. It is interesting to me because I feel that it shows a perspective about how emotionally advanced dolphins are compared to a majority of other animals in the world. Another one I found interesting was fact 5 because it also links similarities between dolphins and humans and shows their advancements compared to the rest of the animal kingdom. Author: Anonymous
