We Are All The Same

Writer: lovingouroceansnowlovingouroceansnow

The ocean is supposed to be a place of peace and tranquility but because of humans, we have failed to keep it like that. The once calm ocean we dream of seeing has turned into the world’s pollution collector and garbage dump by people who want to see beauty but are not willing to do enough to keep it that way. We all want to see the beautiful ocean seen in pamphlets and when we are looking for a beautiful destination for a vacation, but very few really do enough to try and keep it that way.

We live in this contradiction and fantasy that the ocean will stay clean without our help. We live in a fantasy that even though we live on the land, that there is nothing that can be done from our end to save the amazing creatures of the sea. By fantasy, I am implying that there are many things that we can do to save our oceans. Imagine if you couldn’t breath without feeling a straw in your nose like turtles, or how you feel if you couldn’t eat because everything has been contaminated. That is the reality that creatures in the ocean face.

We should all be doing our part to help the ocean. Enough with the selfishness and greed and let us understand that without the ocean and its beauty there is no life for us. We get many of our resources from the ocean without even acknowledging it because of what we take for granted from the ocean. On the earth, animals and humans should be one, we would not enjoy our neighbour coming over to our house and leaving a mess, so let’s be respectful to the ocean and lets not leave a mess for the life who live In it. Don’t forget that we are one with the earth and everything on it.
